More than 60 people attended Cranford’s first Congressional Candidate Forum on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Cranford Community Center.
The audience heard four of the six (then seven) candidates who seek the Democratic nomination to run against Republican Leonard Lance. The forum was moderated by Brian Andrews, a vice chair of the Cranford Democrats.
The candidates in the first forum were:
- Goutam Jois, of Summit;
- Tom Malinowski, of Rocky Hill;
- David Pringle, of Cranford; and
- Scott Salmon, of Scotch plains
“We are fortunate to have a remarkable, accomplished group of Democrats eager to take on Leonard Lance and the Trump Agenda, and this was a great opportunity for people to get to know some of these candidates,” said Cranford Democratic Chairman John Salerno. “Cranford Democrats will be out in force making sure the 7th Congressional District is represented by a progressive Democratic member of Congress.”
Cranford is the 8th largest town (by voter registration) in the 7th Congressional District. The district includes 75 municipalities in six counties. It stretches across New Jersey from Clark in the east to the Delaware River in the west.
