Cheep Thrills at Lenape Park
A core group of Cranford Democrats gathered early Saturday morning, May 26, at Lenape Park for Spring bird watching. Naturalists Edward Zboyan, Betty Ann Kelly and Steve Jandoli led the group. In all, our group saw 32 species of birds, including an osprey, orchard orioles, warbling vireo, a nesting green heron and more.Located on Union County's Rahway River Greenway, Lenape Park consists of wetlands, ponds, rivers, creeks, meadows and forest and is one of the largest undeveloped properties in the Rahway River watershed."We're lucky to have this important wildlife area right here in Cranford," said Cranford Democratic Chairman and wannabe naturalist, John Salerno. "There is so much amazing wildlife right here in our backyards!"
